With art and mead, fulfilling every need.
Through music’s soulful, enchanting sound,
And games that bring laughter all around,
Trivia nights where knowledge gleams,
And art galleries adorned with dreams.

A mission true, a supportive place.
Brick and mortar, an online sphere,
Where creativity knows no fear.
Art travelers, collectors, artists alike,
Gather in joy, their spirits strike.
In Facebook groups, their works displayed,
Their talents showcased, their dreams conveyed.
The common man and woman find,
A celebration of heart and mind.
No boundaries for art’s embrace,
In Connecticut Art Gallery’s grace.

Middletown’s pride, a sparkling gem,
Bergen House, where mead’s from them.
Low ABV delights, a taste divine,
Refreshing spirits, a joy to find.
Talon and Emilie, hearts entwined,
Their journey’s tale, a love defined.
In mead’s allure, they found their call,
Thirteen years, united through all.
From apple mead, a fiery birth,
A taste of fire, of heaven and earth.
With passion’s touch, the fire tamed,
A drink of joy, forever famed.
A meadery born, a dream unfurled,
Weeks of toil, and visions swirled.
Evolved with care, each sip a bliss,
A sparkling magic, nothing amiss.
Thankful hearts to all who share,
In this journey, they bravely bear.
Handcrafted bar, colors bright,
An accent wall, a stunning sight.
Through roadblocks faced with might,
Their creation’s beauty, pure and bright.
Excitement brews, the world awaits,
To taste their mead, to pass through gates.
To Bergen House, our hearts extend,
A place of art, where spirits mend.
In Middletown’s embrace, we find,
A treasure trove for heart and mind.
“We have been to the Bergen House numerous times and it never disappoints! The owners and staff are so friendly and the service is spot on! The mead is delicious and we love stopping in to see what new flavors they have come up with! My favorites this time were Larry and Blueberry!” -Karen

About Bergen House
Owners Talon and Emilie Bergen just celebrated their twelfth wedding anniversary. While Talon has been brewing beer since 2011, Emilie has always hated beer. In 2015, a friend of theirs gave them a bottle of mead. They expected it to be overly sweet, but they were wrong! They discovered that mead can be dry… since most commercial mead is still overly sweet. Ours isn’t, but we are a little countercultural in that aspect.
The first mead Talon made was apple mead. It was accidentally 20% ABV and tasted like drinking fire. Thankfully, after a few months, the fire kind of mellows out, and after a year it was pretty good. Talon tried to make some others, and slowly it became a favorite drink of ours. It’s a little disappointing that we can’t drink it when we are out! We want to change that.
When we decided to start a meadery in 2017, we were making at least a batch a week. It was a lot of work, but we learned a lot along the way. As we experimented, our product has evolved. Our product is now 5-7% ABV, sparkling, and insanely refreshing. We serve it as an alternative beverage to anything else available on the market, and we know you’ll love it!
